Sleepyheads - The teenage brain needs a minimum of 8 hours’ sleep a night.

Sleep is vital for memory, performance and general wellbeing. Lack of sleep can have serious effects. Anxiety and body-clock problems can move on to illnesses such as bipolar or depression.

Get yourself fit with a good bedtime routine: a ‘sleep-friendly’ bedroom not overloaded with stimulating distractions (leave that phone outside!); avoid caffeinated drinks towards the end of the day, and don’t eat just before bed when your body is trying to begin its repair work.
